If a sales rep drives a Fiesta RS in Britain or the Continent, people would look at it and go, wow, that guy must be badass, he drives a Fiesta RS!
If a sales rep drives a Fiesta RS here in ‘MURICA!, people would look at it and go, wow, that guy must totally suck at his job if all he can afford to drive is a freakin’ Fiesta, also why does his Fiesta look so weird?

Bruv, times have changed much since that piece of ancient history. The Fiesta ST/Focus RS? probably won’t make much of a reaction. The Mustang on the other hand will look like showing off given how bloody big the thing is. Among Sales reps here in the UK it is all about MPG now and whether or not you pay road tax.

Buying petrol by the liter for the same price as a gallon will make anyone excessively MPG conscious.

I was too until I got the receipt for the gas in Germany. I was astonished at what filling up a tank costs in the EU.
And, I’m a guy who is used to spending a lot at the pump with a Silverado and a X5.

when I worked in Germany we where allowed €30K for our company cars. However we where not allowed to select BMW’s, because the employees in Britain could not afford BMW’s on their budget. Salesmen and upper management were exempt though as they had larger budgets.
On a related our Northern European manager asked for a Porsche 911 as a company car, but was told it was not an appropriate car as he could not take a group of customers in the car or transport equipment in the trunk.. not that he did either, that’s what he used the company plane for.
So he asked instead for a BMW 7 series. The request sat on the VP for Europe’s desk for months, until the CEO came for meeting. At dinner the CEO mentioned the request for the 7 series and advised that he get a 745 rather than a 735, as he will like the larger engine. The next day the request was approved.
The Northern European managed did eventually get his Porsche... the CEO gave it to him as a bonus.
